1. What We Collect

We collect the following data when you use CompareMuffin:

• Account data: Your name, email address, and Google ID — provided via Google Sign-In.
• Comparison data: The text inputs you submit for comparison and the AI-generated results.
• Usage data: Daily comparison counts used to enforce plan limits.
• Billing data: Paddle customer ID and subscription status. We never store your card details — Paddle handles all payment data.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the comparison service and display your results history.
• To enforce plan limits and process billing.
• To improve the service (aggregate, anonymised analysis only).
• We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

• Google OAuth: Used for authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI: Your comparison inputs are sent to OpenAI to generate results. Subject to OpenAI's data usage policies.
• Paddle: Handles all payment processing as our Merchant of Record. Subject to Paddle's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics: We use GA4 to track anonymous usage statistics (page views, session counts).

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and comparison data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your Account settings, which permanently removes all your data.

5. Cookies

We use session cookies required for authentication (NextAuth). We do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics uses anonymised cookies for aggregate analytics.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us or using the in-app account deletion feature.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
